Disco Vibes EP1

Disco Vibes: Club Selection is the fifth in the Vibes album series & takes a look at some of the finest examples of disco-influenced club music past, present & future. In the 'Disco Vibes EP series, we'll be highlighting exclusive tracks from the album along with many previously unavailable tracks.

One significant trait links all these post-modern disco-tastic gems together & that is that they remain true to the original spirit of the genre. Here you can tell the work's been put in, the music's either played by real musicians (yes 'played' not 'sampled') or its been put together with a dexterous & soulful touch by people who know their shit. Thankfully for the last decade or so there has always been those producers who have truly kept it 'real' and paid respectful homage to those who have gone before, bringing the true spirit of the genre forward & adding their own twist for new generations to enjoy. Gentlemen we're proud to salute you & your crate diggin' funky little ways!

Featured on 'EP1' are Full Flavoured Dip, a 'proper' band' formed around DJ Superdeluxxx that have played all over their native Holland, wowing audiences with their vibrant mix of disco & funk influenced grooves. 'Don't Stop' gives us a taste of what the band are capable of on stage. With a top notch funky litlle intro, it starts out like a blaxploitation car chase, before dropping into some cool jazz-funk grooves featuring a funky little stew of; live bass, brass, guitar, keys, slick beats & soulful vocals. 'Horny trump', serves as the perfect accompaniment with an energetic funked up club dub, leading with some joyously funky, fluid & rubbery slap bass and vibrant brass stabs into some sublime trumpet business.

Tim Scott (Samurai FM): Don't Stop' bounces along nicely - that live bass gets me every time! The playing is superb. 'Horny Trump', again features some wicked playing and a really nice disco groove that's guaranteed to get people moving.
