Mettle Music presents Summer Vibes EP7

To bring the Summer Vibes EP series to a close, we have arguably left the best to last in the shape of 'Closer To The Sun', an this outstanding mix of fine musicality, live latin rhythms & soulful vocals.

Production on the 'Original' & 'Club Mix' featured here is in the safe hands of Manchester based producer Rick Sliwa, the man behind the 2fo project. Rick has a background as a percussionist trained in the rhythms of Brazil & Cuba & it show's. He has also previously produced tracks for Acid Jazz including ‘Samba Bahiana’ a scorching batucada which was heavily played out by the likes of Gilles Petersen and Snowboy. 2fo’s first vinyl release was a 12” on the Urbanize label ‘Whats it all about’ – a highly danceable Latin/ ragga fusion.

Singer ‘EBERE’ (Michelle Udogu) is the main vocal talent of the project. She has worked with many producers in both the UK and Brazil and is always in demand for her highly original and always soulful vocal style.

Also included is a totally different take of the track from Irelands Aruba (Darran Nugent) which takes the track into much more of a tech-funk direction. Darran has re-bedded the vocals down on a funky as fuck slapbass line that rides along on a head noddingly tight groove.

All in all a really 'hot' little package to bring the series to end in fine style…
